Worst product ever bought

Four years after purchase receiving this error I have had a technician come out twice once to try and replace the fan and next to replace the PCB I still have this error. The freezer gets cold but the refrigerator does not. Not sure where else to go for help on this. Will never by LG again.

HORRIBLE PRODUCTS BLACK STAINLESS FINISH CHIPPING

Three years ago I purchased a new LG oven fridge dishwasher and microwave from Grand Appliance in Algonquin IL. The black stainless finish on the oven dishwasher and fridge is chipping off. The oven display no longer works and the dishwasher is making a ton of noise. I purchased the 5yr warranty so I will be calling to have the appliances repaired but I will NEVER by LG again.

The service on this refrigerator is ridiculous. It took 2 different repair people to come out to find the first repair person actually destroyed my fridge after making me pay for a new computer for the fridge. He put a screw in the convertor which shorted the whole fridge. They then told me to buy a mini fridge which they would pay for and I still have NOT heard anything back from them and they only wanted to give me 1300 on the frige their repair person broke and had no way to prove that I needed a new one. He put a screw into the capacitor which shorted the fridge and made it irreparable. My fridge was only 5 years and 3 months old and I paid around 2800 for it. Now they have completely stopped communication with me on this. Their service department is ridiculous.

Worst Purchase Ever

I have had this fridge for less than 6 years and there has been 4 complete failures till date. First 2 failures were due to faulty design of the main electronic controller card mother board which was causing ice buildup on all cooling vents and the fridge would stop cooling completely. The problem was later detected and fixed. Lost almost $300 worth of fodd items in these 2 failures. Then 2.5 years later the compressor failed. The compressor was replaced which only lasted for 1.5 years and is broken yeat again. I have lost another $300-$400 on spoiled food products due to the compressor failures. There is a class action law suite in USA which proves that this is not an isolated case but a systemic design and manufacturing issue. And on top of this LG customer service has been the worst I have encountered so far. Even their Executive team have been trying to dodge these issue. With this last failure the executive team stated that they are working on a pro-rated adjustment and will take 3-5 business days. Today is the 6 day and now they say that they are still working on it and will need another 3-5 days. It is crystal clear that LG will NOT stand behind their product.

Poor service

We have had our refrigerator for one month. The door handle was damaged during shipping. We spent 2 hours on the phone one day and 6 hours on the phone the next day trying to get a person to report this to. Finally I tried contacting via email. They asked for the serial number and I thought terrific I am making headway on getting a replacement handle. Then there was silence. I have sent repeated emails requesting an update. We have heard absolutely nothing since I reported the damage. I could understand if it takes a couple weeks to get the handle just let me know the situation. The lack of information and lack of communication is exasperating . It is difficult to open the refrigerator with the damaged handle. It is so frustrating that I it overshadows everything else. So the rating is low because of the very poor service.

Compressor failure in 3 years very poor service

Compressor failed after 3.5 years. Customer service is very bad when trying to get it repaired. Service tech diagnosed problem and requested new compressor. To get new one required LG approve it. It has been 7 days and Im still waiting for approval. After its approved they estimate 3 days for shipping and then scheduling the repair. When its all over and done with I estimate I will have been without a refrigerator for at least two weeks

I bought this refrigerator in May of 2015. Had to replace a fan in just 2 years because some part of the freeze was too cold and some not cold enough. After six months same thing happened. I called LG at that point and the technician came out and fixed some software issue and told us that if we had not called it would keep happening. after two years later yesterday all the ice cream in my freezer is melting and milk in my freeze went bad. Tried resetting but did not work. Called LG and they are sending technician out tomorrow to look at it. I hope they do not charge me. Because 5 year old very expensive fridge should not have this many problems to begin with. So far customer service is good and they have been taking care of the problem and fixing but it is too much hassle when fridge does not work. It disrupt your entire household in many ways and you have to stop doing everything else and start calling and googling what the issue is with your fridge.

3rd compressor fail...finally died after ONLY year

We purchased this refrigerator four years ago in September 2016. It worked fine until a few months ago when the compressor went up and failed. And as of yesterday it happened again. With all that is transpiring with COVID-19 this is the worst time for a refrigerator to die/fail. My husband and I have 3 young kids and are in desperate need of a fridge and there is unfortunately no time I sight where we can get a replacement or this one repaired. After a mere 4 short years I am thoroughly disappointed in LG and this product.

Repair Problems

My LG is under the 5-year warranty. Both the refrigerator and freezer are not cooling. I could only find one company that will service LGs but they wont work with LG so the warranty will not apply. I called LG and spent at least half an hour on the phone. Service response is 24-48 hours. Its been 24 hours. Ive had to throw away all of my perishables. I wish I had not bought an LG.

This product stopped freezing and cooling and to find someone too try and come fix it was ridicules. I had to buy another refreigator to store my food in while I waited for some one to fix this one. He has replaced to cooling system and the compressor and it still is not cooling. I have always bought LG products but this one really is bad and I can not afford to buy another To replace it. Why is it that LG will not warranty the parts that are needed to fix my refreigator they know what the problem is and they do not care? Why is it so hard to get service from LG on there products that fail? I really hate the fact that this if this refreigator can not fixed that I am going to have to spend another 2500.00 + for another this one is not even 5 years old yet. Constant issues that service reps can fix and calling/emailing have NO idea the functionality of LG products. 1 dark gray film developed on walls in refrigerator...after much research after nobody knew was filter related. 2 refrigerator doors dont have a good seal close/open. 3 WiFi DO NOT SET UP its not secure and unable to remove once set up 4 App if useless 5 Customer Service is useless The only reason I havent gotten rid of this $$$$ cost me too much

Going on my third repair in three years

We were so happy purchasing this fridge as it had all the bells and whistles we wanted. However having to get this repaired really has taken its toll on our feelings about LG. After a compressor issue the Auger Assembly has gone out on us for the second time and we shouldnt have to repair this again 2 months past warranty for the previous fix. Very unhappy with product and support. This should not happen only 4 years into the life of the appliance.

Our LG refrigerator broke on 18th and I contacted LG on 19th morning 9 am and the refrigerator was fixed with new compressor by 2:30 PM. The technician was very helpful he switched the TV repair appointment with someone elses to our refrigerator as this was really important for us. Thank you for your service .

We bought this refrigerator despite the reviews... Love the styling space ease of use and the lighting. Unfortunately it lives up to its reviews. It died after only 27 months and we are still trying to get it repaired with both a factory and extended warranty thru Lowes. As of today it supposedly to repaired today it has been of no use for 19 days. Yes 19 days. There is no sense of urgency by either LG nor Lowes. The factory authorized representative repair facility does not stock standard replacement parts which have been on expedited order status now for 13 days after waiting for five days to be diagnosed. This has been an extremely frustrating experience. At this point all I can say with complete candor is its a beautiful frig that will cost you hundreds in lost food and serious frustration with trying to get it repaired

This expensive refrigerator has had nothing but problems since the control board failed a few years after purchase. Then the compressor needed repair then another control board failure and now the fan is not working. There has been ice build up in the refrigerator from the cooling air coming from the freezer causing additional problems. I would not recommend this product.

While it worked it was great. Beautiful spacious convenient... I would have preferred that it get a bit colder in both the fridge and freezer compartments. Minimum settings are 33 degrees and 3 degrees F respectively. However internal temperatures never actually reached these numbers. Then...quite abruptly this refrigerator stopped working after only 3 years. LGs website says that it is under warranty. LGs representative says its out of warranty. So I have a $4000 appliance brick had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of food that went bad and have been without a working refrigerator for two weeks now. Disappointed...

Love the fridge in general. Love the bottom freezer and door in door. Why I give it 4 stars as opposed to 5 because you cannot shut the WIFI. It has caused interference to my neighbors WIFI and have received complaints. I wish there were a shut off to the WIFI.

We have been using this for a month now and so far the door-in-door is the best feature. It is so convenient. The fridge is really deep and I think things can have the potential to get lost in the back. I added a lazy susan to help reach some of the things easier. The ice maker stopped working one day and I had to reset it by poking a small hole. I wish the stainless steel didnt show fingerprints so much. I bought a stainless steel cleaner and this seems to help a lot.

Attractive unit that failed in 18 mos 2 wks 5 days

Prospective buyers beware. These refrigerators seem to suffer from several issues. The biggie is compressor failure. My unit is a /03 model manufactured in January 2018 and purchased in March 2019. Worked well until it did not failing on October 4 2019 with compressor failure. Since I had an ESP from my seller I started the claim process. An indie company tech came out. Replaced evaporator fan and board. No change so called again - this time they sent an LG tech. He replaced compressor and updated board. After letting unit run for 2 days refrigerator temp is 42 and freezer at 27. Waiting on third repair visit now. The LG tech told me that the compressor failure happens mor often than LG would like. Just a heads up. The other problem I found in my searches is the control panel film peeeling. I have not seen that yet. On the bright side - LG extended the warranty to 5 years PL on units purchased on or after 01/2018. May be extended further back. Bottom line - if you want a good looking refrigerator then this may be your jam. If you are concerned about reliability then I would look elsewhere unless you like throwing out food..

Significant Improvement

This fridge is a huge improvemrnt over our previous unit which was suffering from several very basic faults. Amazingly it cost 1/3 price of what we paid 12 years ago. More capacity for same exterior size and superior layout. Particularly like the smooth glide drawers and ESPECIALLY the ease of moving entire unit to clean behind and beneath. Controls are sensible and manual is thorough. Cannot think of any downside criticisms. Our daughter has a similar one which persuaded us to get this LG model.

Not. Happy. At. All.

Purchased 3/14/2016. Began leaking water onto the kitchen floor 18 months later past the 1-year warranty. LG repair man said it was a bad door gasket and replaced the gasket. But turns out that was NOT the root cause. Now on 10/7/2019 it is leaking water over the kitchen floor again. After doing a LOT of online research have determined that it MAY be a design defect. Defrost cycle runs a lot and the melted frost now liquid water cannot drain down the little hose because the hose gets plugged this allowing the melted water to find its way to the kitchen floor. So WHY does the hose get plugged every so often? Is it too small? Is the defrost cycle too long or too short? How do we prevent this from happening every 15 to 18 months?

This fridge makes me pretty happy

Weve had this fridge for 4 years. It recently completely died on us. Just stopped cooling either the fridge or freezer. We discovered the problem because of water dripping out which we tracked to melting ice in the ice maker. Our usual repair guy came out but said it was the closed system and to contact LG for warranty repair. Sure enough the closed system was still under warranty. A tech came out a week later ugh a week without a fridge. but it was worth it to get it covered under warranty as this is basically the most expensive part of the whole thing. A few hours later we had a fully functional fridge again. The work involved welding. It was impressive. Anyway - aside from that situation the fridge is great. I love the door in door. I love the french doors. I love having a bottom freezer. I love having easy access to everything. Its bright and adjustable. Its huge. I can hardly believe everything that fits in it.

Modern Fridge

I bought this fridge in November 2018. It is a big improvemet to my home. I had an old fridge which didt keep my beer cold any longer. This new modern extra large fridge even has a water dispenser and ice maker which is great when getting ice. I no longer have to open the freezer door and mess with ice trays. One thing yet I need to figure out how to clean the SS without leaving streaks.

The most WORTHLESS Product I have ever owned

This is the absolute most WORTHLESS product I have ever owned and I would NEVER recommend any LG product again. The extended warranty is an absolute scam they took for ever to repair our fridge the first and second time it completely stopped working. I spend a minimum of an hour each time I have to call on the phone I always get the run around and Im always told the best they can do is send a tech to repair..... I WANT MY FRIDGE REPLACED with a NEW fridge due to this being an annual occurrence. I am tired of having to go through the same wast of time BS process every year because LG builds faulty appliances. LG doesnt support their product their warranty through Square Trade is absolutely worthless and a waste of money. Purchasing this product through Cost Co doesnt help one bit either as they wont replace a fridge that goes out every year unless it craps out within the first 90 days of purchase. We have to have the coils and pump replaced annually on this worthless product. We were flat out robbed of our money purchasing this product. I also know 3 other families having similar issues with this same model DO NOT BUY LG Refrigerators

I purchased my LG LFXS30766S refrigerator in Sept 2015. It died over the weekend. Repairman came out to see if it could be fixed. The condenser is shot and freon is leaking. His suggestion was to buy a new fridge vs. repairing it. How can a top-end refrigerator that I paid over $2500 break in 4 years? My strong suggestion is to stay away from LG product

Talk about a lemon Repairmen have replaced the mother board twice soldered the compressor in place once and tried another time to repair the defroster component saying that should fix it. Today its gone out for the 5th time in 3 1/2 years. A true lemon. No more LGS. They look good but are designed by people who never use them

Freezes food in the glide and serve drawer

Bought this Refer in 2014. Was pretty good the 1st Year and a half Except for freezing food in the drawers. Since then We have to Manually defrost it every 8 to 10 months Which takes about 2 1/2 hours. Paying that kind of price I would expect a much better operating machine. My last Fridge lasted over 20 years with NO problems.
