The door-in-door is a great feature

Originally thought the door-in-door feature was probably not real useful but it proved otherwise. We keep items which we use nearly every meal like milk cream juice drinks and condiments in it. The door-in-door is very useful and convenient and certainly saves some energy by not having to open the large doors as often.

Not cooling AGAIN

This refrigerator worked well for a couple years then I noticed everything started thawing out in the freezer. Then the ice maker stopped working and our food in the refrigerator started spoiling quickly. We finally got the compressor replaced by LG. Well a few months back the same thing happened. Im so upset. I emailed LG and was sent a link to troubleshoot. My husband worked in maintenance for 24 years and cant figure out ok how to troubleshoot this lemon even with the not-so-helpful tips from LG. Never again.

Two compressors and still having to replace

Bought this fridge new with our 4 year old house. They delivered it damaged and did not replace the whole unit but only doors. Replaced compressor first time within a year and LG only paid for the part. Compressor went bad AGAIN and our repair person said this is a KNOWN issue with these LG units. LG did nothing. We are now without a fridge and have a bad compressor - big shock. LG will do nothing and we are shopping for a whole new fridge. Needless to say I refuse to buy LG.

I didnt want to buy another LG after the lemon dishwasher but this was on sale. Its terrible. A man must have designed it because a woman would never make parts that are uncleanable. On top of it the freezer drawer broke in less than a year. Test your products on kids. I will never buy LG again

Great fridge until the compressor goes out again

I purchased this fridge in 2013 and loved it. In the first year the compressor had to be replaced and didnt have many issues. The freezer did died again at our 7 yr mark of owning it. The compressor went out again. Were chosing to buy a new fridge and wont be going with LG this time. Its unfortunate they havent recalled this problem because so many have had the same issue.

ZERO STARS if it would let me. Stopped working 3 days ago. Still under warranty and extended warranty. But LG DOES NOT CARE ALL IM GETTING IS A RUN-AROUND. They cant get anyone to service it. And dont care if I have a refrigerator. They have my money and are now flipping me the bird. Im already 3 days into waiting. I called right away. Was told it will take 3 - 7 days. 3 days later I get an email saying my service is cancelled. I called again got put on hold followed by a half hour of run-around transferred then the hung up on. I bought my refrigerator end of 2015 in march 2018 I was filing my first claim the compressor stopped working. I would have never thought that being a recognizable brand like LG it was only going to last only 2 years. They replaced the compressor but now August 2020 it broke again I am out of the protection insurance so I now have to call LG to have it replaced which is not the easiest thing to do they take loong time to send a repair specialist and on top of that no coverage for spoiled food and the nightmare to be withouth a fridge for 10+ days I am disappointed of the LG brand already.

We bought this refrigerator/freezer about two years ago. We have already had to have a new one sent to us because the first one was faulty. Once again it is not working. The service guy has been here three times and is not sure he has fixed the problem. He has replaced the compressor for 1100.00 which didnt work and has now charged us another 250.00 to fix the coil in the back but its still not working. I would never recommend this product to anyone

Lesson 1-After 3 years the compressor failed see the similarities in all of these stories? It took a month of contacting customer service and getting a new compressor and paying for the installation. a few moths ago a loud buzzing sound began. I tried to trouble shoot and found out that it was the Freezer fan. LG Customer service said well unplug it and let it defrost. Lesson 2-we boght a minifridge and an insane aount of ice for our collers and waited for 3 days for this thing to defrost. Yesterday the buzzing started again. Lesson 3-Buyer a different refrigerator and cut our losses. The part would take 4-6 weeks to get to us. BYE BYE LG and good riddance terrible customer service.

Died twice in three months

Its has a lot of nice features and plenty of room but it has stopped cooling/freezing twice in less than three months. The refrigerator is less than 4 years old. The repair person wasnt very knowledgeable and required convincing as to what the actual problem was the first time. Very discouraging and making me regret I purchased an LG.

Failed compressor brittle parts.

The front face of the upper freezer drawer is coming off on both sides. Otherwise its been a great nice looking fridge with all the features I want/need.

My refrigerator still isnt repaired

I have been without a refrigerator for 27 days. Between LG and the service providers I have received poor customer service. The second representative stated that if I didnt hear word from the service company provided by the end of the week I would be issued a new unit. Mind you this is a refrigerator with a known faulty compressor. Upon calling I was told that isnt their policy so I have start the whole process again. After scheduling a 3rd appointment with another LG repair company we shall see if the problem is fixed. LG has really disappointed me. I will never ever purchase another product from LG. Beware if you have any warranty issues LG will give you the run around.

This fridge was wonderful until it stopped working

Yesterday my husband noticed water was leaking from the door where the ice dispenser is located. It was also leaking from the bottom right corner of the freezer. Now the fridge isnt running and its not cooling food properly. We bought this fridge in August 2016. I have a repair person coming tomorrow. I am hoping it is not outrageous to fix at Christmastime.

Not Leak Proof - Died after 3 years

I purchased this fridge in June 2016. It does keep food cold or should I say it did. 3 years of use and now it only keeps it at about 55 degrees in the fridge and 42 degrees in the freezer. Hopefully it can be repaired for limited funds. As for overall review - Leak proof shelves - They leak under the edge and are very hard to clean at that point. Water dispenser - Water is cold but you only get about 20 ounces before it is room temperature.

Great Fridge - Huge Problem

Purchased this fridge in Jan 2017 everything worked great until April 2019. Unit stopped cooling. A repair call was made and it worked again until Nov 2019. Repair call this time determined that the compressor needed to be replaced. One week later a brand new compressor was installed only to fail 36 hours later. Were now on our 4th week of being without a fridge....The refrigeration company weve been working with noted that theyve had numerous tickets to fix this issue. I definitely would not purchase again.

The compressor went out at just over 2 years. This is not acceptable The service tech informed us this is common for LG. So why have you not recalled this unit? Compressor changed out and fridge was fine for a day just long enough to stock it with new food since we lost a fridge full of food the first time. Then the evaporator goes out. We had to remove our food out again. I would not recommend an LG appliance to anyone. I should be getting a new fridge with a $500.00 gift card to replace the groceries lost Are you going make it right?????

Nice fridge when it works

I bought this refrigerator June of 2016 and it was great until June of 2019 when it decided to not get cold for 2 days. I lost hundreds of dollar in groceries and spent hours cleaning up the mess from all the melted ice and thawed frozen product. It took almost 2 weeks to get a service repair tech sent out. How are families supposed to function day-to-day without a refrigerator for 2 weeks?? Well after 2 days of not working the refrigerator began to function normally. So by the time the repair tech came to the house there was nothing to fix. They even reviewed the diagnostic logs and nothing. How can this thing not work for 2 days and there be no trace of what happened?? So here we are September of 2019 4 month later and the same thing has happened. Once again I have lost hundreds of dollars in food and it will take 2-3 weeks to get a repair tech to my house. Simply unacceptable LG People cannot go for weeks without the ability to keep food in their homes. I have kids that go to school and play sports and I cannot even fill a sports bottle with ice water or make their lunches for school My only option is to sit and wait weeks for someone to come fix my refrigerator and hope that it doesnt magically decide to start working again before the repair person shows up. I will never buy another LG product ever again and hope this review steers people away from making the same mistake that I did.

The Worst Refrigerator

This refrigerator failed exactly a year and one month after we bought it. Unfortunately we did not buy the warranty to it. We were able to get it fixed by getting a new compressor for it but exactly 2 months later we had the same problem. Once again we got it fixed. One year later we had the same issue not to mention that through out the whole year we had days in which it just didnt work. I am so disappointed at LG. Our friends who have the same model had the same issue and as we were at Best Buys buying another refrigerator there was another couple who had the same issues with the same LG refrigerator as we did. We will never buy their products again.

I bought this refrigerator 3 years ago. The compressor went out which was covered under warranty. Ive been sitting around waiting for this to be fixed for a month now. Customer service offered to pay for some of the ruined food. I told them that I dont want a hand out I wanted a working refrigerator. They said that there was nothing they could do. We called them contracted repair place and LG multiple times after being rescheduled with the excuse that Sometimes repairs take longer than expected. Additionally the tech that came to look at the refrigerator told me that I should wait for a week to put food in it because the compressors are finnicky. If you plan to buy from LG make sure there is more than 1 service tech in the surrounding 100 miles and having a back up refrigerator is a necessity. LG doesnt stand behind their products or their warranty work I recommend you do not either.

I lived a year in our brand new home with a GE side by side refrigerator cursing it almost daily. Wed had an LG French door in our previous home that I missed every day. So after a year we put the GE on Craigs list and bought an LG. The first thing you notice is the bright LED lights. You can see everything. The drawers and shelves are well thought out and just enough. They can be arranged to fit almost anything. Love the extra ice storage in the freezer drawer as well as the in door water ice. The door within a door is a great feature as well. Best of all it only costs $77 per year to run.

Love our new LG French door refrigerator

Weve only had our LG 29 cu ft frig for 2 weeks but we already love it especially the door-in-door aspect. Very easy to access those often-used items like milk bottled water and snack foods. Never thought the door-in-door would be as useful as it is.

I bought this product 4 years ago and the compressor has already failed. I am having a difficult time getting a service technician out to my home. It has been a week and no one showed up at the appointed time nor did anyone call me to let me know about any delay. I have bought ice every day to try and save some food and my husbands insulin. I am very disappointed in this products performance and the lack of service provided.

Have had this product for 3 years and it started having cooling issues already. Have contacted LG several times and still waiting for a response to get this serviced. This is the first time weve had an issue with an LG product. Overall the features and quality are great but not so sure about the cooling system.

I will be 76 next month. Ive had a lot of refrigerators over the years and our LG refrigerator is the best ever The thoughtfulness in the design and convenience is beyond compare The ice maker actually works without chips landing on the floor and ice dispensing like a slot machine paying off. The water spout is so easy and mess free and I am able to fill pitchers without a separate container to transfer water from the refrigerator to the pitcher. I love my LG refrigerator

Easy Access

We replaced a refrigerator that was continually freezing up. Our new refrigerator appears to be working flawlessly. There are specific features that helped us decide on this model. We enjoy the extra access from the front door without opening the whole door and the extra ice maker in the freezer.

Another in a list of failures

I bought our LFXS29766S in June of 2017. Little did we know that there was a Class Action Lawsuit going on regarding its reliability. Now our compressor has failed and the technician is saying the parts are back ordered. Its been a week now and Im reading horror stories about bad replacement parts lack of response and being out for over a month before just buying a new fridge to cut your loss.
